Please note: An Alexander Wang spokesperson responded that the there is no planned sale on Thursday. Seems like our normally "reliable sources" could be mistaken. While this could be an CNN moment, we will continue to monitor the situation. The Alexander Wang sale was so popular last season that passersby assumed that the line outside was for voting rather than gaining entrance to a popular sale. At one point, "experts" estimated that there were over 300 people waiting to get their hands on discount Wang-wears.
This season, spies tell us that the brand is trying a different approach and not publicizing this sale. Insiders say that the sale will start this Thursday. Sale shoppers can expect to save up to 70% off of cloths, 65% off bags and shoes and 60% off the lower-end T Wang collection.
Early on at the last sale we found large Emile totes (retail $975) for $400 and Diego Bucket bags. Clutches and small bags were $250 to $300, medium bags were $350 and large bags were $400. Small leather goods were priced between $70 and $90. Shoes were gently priced at $200 and exotic leather versions were $300. We thought that the clothing was a bit on the pricey side but found some great leather jackets for $300 and more fashionable dresses for $300. T Wang ranged in price from $35 to $120.
You can see a full account of last season's
sale right here. In the case you find yourself behind 300 shoppers, we suggest you turn around and head to the Saks friends and family sale. Wang, and most other designers, is just not worth a three hour wait!
